VS: What Makes Zeus Juice Stand Out From The Competition?

Our facilities are ISO 9001 certified and we are proud that all our e-liquids are batch tested and traceable back to every individual bottle offering our customers guaranteed safety.
Our most popular flavour – Black Reloaded – is loved by the UK with 1 bottle purchased every 3 minutes directly from us. Every Zeus Juice flavour is premium, innovative and lasts all day, which was my aim 10 years ago while mixing in my kitchen!

Tim: Our unique bottle designs are instantly recognisable and one-of-a-kind. In 2020 we won the Best Branding and Marketing award at the Vapouround Awards and we now have a range of brands that cover all vaping demographics.
All of our products offer great margins for retailers and we have capacity to produce 420,000 bottles of e-liquid per week.

VS: You Obviously Have Strict Quality Control Measures; Can You Give Us A Brief Rundown On How You Ensure Utmost Quality In Each Batch?

Tim: The rigorous controls and resulting quality of our product is what sets us apart. Every batch is mixed by the same three members of our team who are all highly trained to the same level. Everything that is mixed is recorded and checked daily by senior management and then sent to our laboratory where the liquid is tested by our Triple GC-MS for ingredient and mix accuracy. If approved, we apply a machine clean and provide another sample which is then checked for the same standards.
Once we have run the final product and bottled it in our one-of-a-kind branded bottles, the batch is tested again for the liquid content, but also for the label application, lid security and overall presentation. Every single aspect is signed off by senior management before leaving the building and we keep records of all of our batches for five years.

VS: In What Has Been A Turbulent Year With Covid And On Top Of That; Brexit, How Have Zeus Juice Reacted?

Paul: In terms of COVID, safety has been the top priority for us. As well as providing PPE and sanitising products across our sites, we have invested in COVID tests to provide all on-site staff with peace of mind when it comes to their health and safety. Thankfully, we have had zero cases of COVID at either of our sites.

Business wise the recruitment of our MD Tim Allinson came at the right time. Tim gave a very clear direction of travel for the business very early on and pulled the team together giving us agility and speed of thought. For example, our Proper Vape and BOLT releases were swapped at the last minute - it felt right to launch the value range at a time when everyone wanted to save money for Christmas. Now, with BOLT launching as lockdown lifts, the range’s colourful and summer-like presence also feels perfect.

VS: Following Brexit, Are You Expecting Any Changes To The Current Tpd Regulations?

Paul: I have always believed that the vaping industry needed regulations to ensure consumer safety, and while I agree with most of the regulations, I believe that some need alteration. For example, the 10ml bottle size is too small a limit - you can buy a litre of bleach which is more dangerous.
I would also like to see shortfills receive closer regulation. Arguably, e-liquids and vaping come under more scrutiny than traditional cigarettes which seems short sighted considering, according to the NHS, they are less harmful to your health.

VS: What Are The Biggest Challenges You Face In The Industry?

Tim: The rapidly growing disposable market is a positive development in moving people away from cigarettes but starting on 20 mg, vaping out of a device which is not good for the environment, is a challenge both for the independent vapers and manufacturers. Another issue we face is cheap, poor quality juice appearing in shortfills only, across various retail outlets, as Paul mentioned earlier.      

VS: What Are You Most Proud Of Zeus Juice For?

Paul: The most important thing to me is helping people make the switch; converting from smoking to vaping is the reason Zeus Juice was created. Of course, creating a successful business and the opportunities that brings is fantastic, but knowing that Zeus has helped people improve their health and lifestyle is most important

VS: What’s In Store For Zeus Juice Over The Next 12 Months?

Tim: We have so many exciting plans for Zeus in the near future. Firstly, from an employee perspective we want to really enhance our great team spirit and establish effective hybrid working for those not involved directly in manufacturing. For the business we want to further establish our three distinctive brands for different customer budgets and really understand and become obsessed with our customers which has not always been our strength. We will also expand our reach at home and internationally.  

VS: Any Predictions In The Vaping Industry Over The Next 12 Months?

Tim: The vaping industry is constantly evolving and we can confidently predict changes and trends that we will see in the coming months. Sadly, as we come out of lockdown, we are already seeing closures of many independent vape shops which is a hugely concerning trend. As the vaping industry is now established as a £1bn industry, we will see private equity companies start to invest and consolidate businesses. Personally I am not sure that is a good thing! But on a positive note, we will see more and more people converting to vaping and moving away from traditional cigarettes - let us make sure they vape a Zeus Juice brand!

VS: If You Could Give One Piece Of Advice To A New Vaper What Would It Be?

Paul: Find the combination that works for you. I hear so many people say they have tried vaping and couldn’t get on with it but the reason is usually because they haven’t found the right combo for them - be it the device, the type of tank or the juice. A specialised shop will be able to guide you towards the right device and tank for you and to some degree the juice, but taste is subjective. I’d challenge anyone to try our flavours and find one they didn’t like!

Black Reloaded

Narrowing down our favourites was a tricky one, but we think we’ve got a nice selection that’ll cover all the bases. The first of which is Black Reloaded, a fruity, spicy and cool one. The Black

Vermilion

Vermilion is a red by name and red by nature - taking the simple and juicy taste of red cherries and pairing them with a touch of menthol.
